New Works in The John P. Anderson Student Art Collection (2025)

Established in 1993, the John P. Anderson Student Art Collection purchases student works as a way to recognize the accomplishments of Wake Forest’s student artists, including those who have achieved Honors in the Studio Art major. The collection consists of works purchased at the annual student exhibition at Charlotte and Philip Hanes Gallery each Spring and those bought from Studio Art honors students. Works by fourteen artists were accessioned into the collection in 2025. These works span media including sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, and printmaking.

The exhibition features the work of Hannah Johnson, Madeleine Singh, Allison Knight, Kennedy Kirk, Alex Turner, Jessica Andrews, Virginia Bensch, Olivia DeMarinis, Amelia Dunat, Alaura Knoop, Jane Alexander, Maggie Hodge, Lillian McKinney, and Sofia Trujillo.

New Works in the John P. Anderson Student Art Collection will be on view in the stArt Gallery in Reynolda Village from August 25 through September 20. A reception will be held on August 28 from 5:30 to 8 PM.
