Botanical Meditations

Will Coleburn

APRIL 30 – MAY 4, 2018

Botanical Meditations is an exhibition of works on paper from senior honors candidate Will Coleburn.  The show consists primarily of monotype prints depicting botanical forms, which the artist has worked subtractively to evince from fields of ink and then transfer to paper.  Each is—in both process and product—conceived of as an object of contemplation, or “meditation.”

Will Coleburn is a presidential scholar of the visual arts from Marietta, Georgia.  In his time at Wake Forest, he has pursued a double major in studio art and Spanish, with a minor in art history.  When he is not busy with the responsibilities of a full-time student, Will is an avid gardener who enjoys spending time in nature, which greatly informs his artistic practice.
