Through Our Eyes

FEBRUARY 10 – MARCH 17, 2026

Reception: Tuesday, February 24, 5-7 PM

stArt.dt, 455 Vine St. (second floor)

Through Our Eyes is an exhibition of figurative works and portraiture, by women and of women, curated from Wake Forest University’s John P. Anderson Collection of Student Art, established in 1993, which comprises over 400 works.

Curator Caroline Helmer is a senior Art History and Pre-Law major. She writes:

The John P. Anderson Collection of Student Art is comprised of artworks made by students during their time at Wake Forest. It aims to recognize artistic achievements during undergraduate study. This period is particularly formative, rendering art that acts as a window into the female psyche at this point in their youth. Through Our Eyes features works by female artists that depict their collegiate experience: portraits, companionship, and everyday acts that women perform.
